The E-insolvency debt counselling service helps over 100,000 people each year avoid debt. The type of people who seek debt counselling with the E-insolvency  are people who borrow will find themselves in a spiral of debt from which they may find it hard to break free. The age of debtors in serious trouble is getting younger each year and the amounts they owe are growing alarmingly larger. The advice team at E-insolvency recommend anyone with debt problems to consider counselling as a way out of debt.

The UK is in need of some serious debt counselling

Many household budgets have been pushed to breaking point and beyond by the disappearance of cheap mortgage deals, due to the global credit crunch, coupled with higher bills for food, utilities, petrol and other essentials. Those tempted by bank offers of cheap credit over the last decade now find they cannot meet the repayments on their debts and so need debt counselling. The epidemic is spreading so fast that the E-insolvency debt advice team have reported a 500% in the inquiries they are receiving for debt counselling. The figures on those seeking help come from E-insolvency, which co-ordinates the activities of some 200 debt advisers centres across the country said they were seeing a new type of client. In the past it was almost uniquely people on benefits, people in social housing, who went to debt advice agencies since the credit crunch started they are seeing a big increase in professional people and homeowners - people who have been pushed over the edge and now can't cope with their outgoings. These services are being overwhelmed by a whole new breed of debtor - middle-class people. But it means there is now much less debt advice to go round.' At one time, people who ran up massive credit card bills and overdrafts looked to clear the slate by borrowing more against their homes through remortgaging. But the banks have shut off that escape route with tough new rules on lending to those already carrying big debts. Last year saw Britain's spending almost out of control – according to Uswitch, another comparison site, more than 5m people were spending more than they were actually earning. Over half of us are relying on overdrafts to fill the gap between income and outgoings and a third of us have nothing in our bank account at the end of the month.

E-insolvency offer a free and impartial debt couselling and debt advice service to help you find the best solution for you. Our debt counsellors have been specially trained to be able to offer you the best advice possible to free you debt. To contact an advisor call 0800 074 6918.
